On the evening of 7th February 2014, the spectators inside the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi were joined by millions of television viewers worldwide, to witness the breath-taking Opening Ceremony of the XXII Olympic Winter Games.
The first of two events Right To Play (RTP) events held in conjunction with the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi took place on Tuesday evening, 11th February 2014, to celebrate the Athlete Ambassadors who champion Right to Play’s mission of helping children around the world learn through play.

German Carina Vogt is the first ever Olympic Champion in ladies' Ski Jumping in the dramatic debut of the discipline. She won the Olympic competition late Tuesday evening ahead of Daniela Iraschko-Stolz (AUT) and Coline Mattel (FRA).
"This is unbelievable. I thought maybe in a few years I could dream of this sort of achievement," Matthias Mayer, the 23-year-old Austrian winner of the first Alpine gold medal awarded at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games said.
World Snow Day has been designed to engage the Organisers and participants. Each year following the event, a public survey is released to examine why participants did and did not participate in the World Snow Day.
