The 49th International Ski Congress in Barcelona (SPA) from 1st to 6th June 2014 was attended by 1’150 participants from the global ski family including delegates, representatives of National Ski Associations, Organising Committees and the ski industry, who took part in more than 100 official meetings.

Decisions in Cross-Country Skiing Decisions in Cross-Country Skiing

During the 49th FIS Congress in Barcelona (SPA), the Cross-Country Committee presented several proposals. The FIS Cross-Country World Cup calendar 2014/15 was accepted with minor adjustments and confirmed by the FIS Council. In the 2015/16 season, the FIS Cross-Country World Cup will return to Canada for the final period.

There was more good news for the 2017 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in St. Moritz (SUI) as the Council of the Canton of Grisons clearly approved CHF 5 million for the renovation of the Alpine Skiing infrastructure at the resort in its June 2014 session.
