NEWSLETTER - 1st December 2010

Have you got your skis out yet?  I know one member went off in search of a suitable telemarking hill this morning but in London the snow has refused to settle usefully... I'll just have to wait a little longer!

The last not to be missed events of 2010
The Club Christmas dinner takes place next Friday and on Saturday 11 December, the mince pie and roller ski tour of Richmond Park.  It's great fun [the mulled wine always helps] and you can even cycle even you're roller skiing's not up to the circuit. Find out more about this after-dark tour at http://www.londonnordic.org.uk/1112-mince-pie-rollerski-tour/.

Place available on the cross country skiing trip to the Czech Republic
A place has become unexpectedly available on this popular trip - read about it at http://www.londonnordic.org.uk/future-lrnsc-events-2011/ and contact the organiser straight away if you're interested.

Where will you be skiing?
In addition to the Czech Republic trip, a Club group is going to Finland in March, see http://www.londonnordic.org.uk/133-finland-cross-country-ski/ and there's an opportunity for good off-track skiers to cross the Hardangervidda in April - see http://www.londonnordic.org.uk/104-hardangervidda-off-track/.  If you're still looking for ideas, this article gives you some pointers: http://www.londonnordic.org.uk/home2/2010/11/23/book-that-cross-country-skiing-trip.html.

2011 activities
Planning has started on the rest of our 2011 programme which will be published shortly.  Those who went on the Club trip to the Oberhof Ski Hall are keen to repeat the experience - to find out why read the report at http://www.londonnordic.org.uk/london-cross-country-skiers-wr/2010/11/20/bye-bye-the-dachstein-glacier-club-cross-country-ski-trip-to.html

Have a happy Christmas and great skiing in the season ahead.
Mary Wray
