NEWSLETTER - 16th October 2012
Did you know the first snow has fallen in cross country ski centres in Austria, Switzerland and Norway? It must be a good omen for the season ahead!
In the meantime here's a reminder about the Club's upcoming activities that will help you prepare for skiing and get you in the mood for winter.
Four hour FT roller ski race next Saturday 20/10 - Hillingdon Cycle Circuit
Who can ski the furthest in 4 hours? Or for the less speedy, make it a personal challenge to see how many laps you can achieve, taking a break when you need one. Or simply come to spectate and meet other Club members. A 2-course supper will be available afterwards for just £5.00. You can find more details about this event here.
Please enter the race in advance via the Club website - it saves money and helps the organisers! When you pick up your race bib you can order supper or drop the organiser an email prior to the event.
Roller ski course and practice Sunday 4/11 and 25 - Hillingdon Cycle Circuit
Learn, improve or practice roller skiing. If you didn't get a place on the Club's trip Oberhof Ski Hall, don't miss these chances to tune up your skills on roller skis. Find out more about the courses or practice sessions and book your place online.
Annual Club dinner at Brasserie Blanc, South Bank on Saturday 17/11
Book your places by 3/11 for this popular event - it's a chance for new members to meet other Club members and for everyone to catch up over a delicious meal and a glass or two of wine. Follow this link to find out how to book your places.
Secondhand skis ...
Club member John Claricoat has reluctantly decided to hang up his skis and is wondering if another member would like them. He's offering

waxable the other non-waxable, with Salomon bindings, plus poles and ski
bag suitable for a person 5ft 6, approximately 10st 7 1bs. They're free to anyone willing to pick up them up from London N1. Please email me if you'd like to follow this up with John.
