Hello Dominic

Here's a quick round-up of our upcoming events and activities ...

19/6 How to develop ski specific strength

Strength is a key component of cross country ski racing so this next Snow Training Group session on 19 June will focus on this.

You'll learn roller skiing exercises that will help develop your strength specifically for skiing - expect to work hard!

To take part in this group you just need to be a member of LRNSC - there's no extra cost.  The aim is to help competent skiers maximise training opportunities for better results on snow.  Not an LRNSC member?  Join here.

19/6 Next Club classic handicap race

How fast can you ski two laps? Come and find out. We're continuing with our classic handicap races for LRNSC members.

They're free of charge and great for any Club member - either as part of your training, a bit of fun or as a first foray into roller ski racing.

19/6 learn to roller ski + practice

If you want to learn to roller ski there's also a beginner's session at Hillingdon Cycle Circuit on 19 June - take your first steps to becoming a better skier.  Book your place now.

LRNSC members can also use the Circuit for their own practice on this date and catch up with others over tea and cake afterwards.

Book your place - SSE roller ski course 25/26 June

Boost your skiing skills at this intensive weekend course - improve your technique, get lots of training tips and take your roller skiing to a different level.  If you want to test your new skills, race in the team sprints - there's no charge for course participants.

Martin Watkins, a highly experienced coach who has raced  for the British biathlon and cross-country team, plus Dagmar Junghans, a much sought after instructor, are two of the confirmed coaches for this course.

This course on 25-26 June at Hillingdon Cycle Circuit is the only one in the south of England - grab this opportunity!

Take a look at this video of off-track skiing in Alaska, to remind you how good skiing can be ... and why roller skiing is a great idea to develop skills in a non-snow country!
Happy roller skiing.
Mary
