At least that's how it always seems to me. From now on, we start to gear up towards the Winter season.
We may have fewer beginner sessions now, but we're hard at work replacing equipment, planning the season ahead and generally getting ready for the busy time. Dorney rollerskiing returns on Sunday 18th August, and Hyde Park 4-week courses return in September. In the months ahead you will find us running sessions in Weybridge, Wiltshire, Wallingford, Richmond Park, the Copperbox at the Olympic Village, the Scandinavia Show and Redbridge Cycle Circuit, as well as Dorney and Hyde Park.

HYDE PARK - CLUB & AUTUMN COURSES
Regular training continues in Hyde Park, with our club providing a variety of sessions each week. You can find our forthcoming programme here - http://rollerski.co.uk/clubprog.html
Now is a good time to get involved, with smaller groups in the Summer months.
For improving classic skiers, we recommend a special 4-week Level 2 Classic course, beginning on Saturday 21st September (by special request) - http://rollerski.co.uk/events1.html
DORNEY - BEGINNERS, ADVANCED, TEAM DORNEY SESSIONS
Our 'Team Dorney' programme will re-start in October. Details will be published later, but this is a structured programme for skiers who can come once or twice a month on Sundays, and worked very well in the past season. This year we will also add a couple of sessions at Redbridge cycle circuit as options on this programme, which is an excellent location for hill-work.
SUNDAY TIMES PROFILE OF ROLLERSKIING
We had Martin Hemming of the Sunday Times along to try out rollerskiing. I was slightly dreading the article, as the author fell a lot, and it wasn't helped by me putting him in a group with Alpine skiers (who all picked it up very quickly) and Mantas getting his name wrong. But despite all this, the article was very good, you can read it here -
EX-RENTAL ROLLERSKI KIT
I'm replacing all boots, rollerskis and the majority of poles at the moment. The bulk of the kit was last replaced in in September 2012, so it's had less than 12 months (hard) use. There's a discount on the poles if you buy boots and rollerskis as well. More details are here -
SUMMER TRAINING - GB BIATHLON TEAM VIDEO
Here's a great video from the GB biathlon team's Marcel Laponder. You can skip to the rollerskiing, in Ruhpolding, at 1.15 -
We have just announced our on-snow trips for 2014 this week. Featuring top instructor Alan Eason, we will be based in Obertilliach, Austria and Pontresina, Switzerland, and taking part in local races. The on-snow instruction fit seamlessly with the way we teach rollerskiing, and bring together great locations, instructors, equipment and people. For more information, see - http://rollerski.co.uk/cross.html
SLIDE TO SOCHI
The Sochi Winter Olympics are only 192 days away. This brings a great focus to Winter Sports, and cross-country skiing is no different. We will be shortly launching a 'Go Rollerski' initiative, with Snowsport England, aimed at getting young people (aged 14-25) into rollerskiing and cross-country skiing.

The Richmond Park sessions are booked through the Outdoor Fitness Collective, but delivered by us. The OFC has had a very successful launch, with huge billboards featuring rollerskiing at local train stations (see link above)! It has a growing following in and around South West London.
