The build-up to the Winter is in full swing
Rollerskiing rocks the streets of London
Well, some streets. Actually maybe just my street. I went rollerskiing last week up Swains Lane, N6, home to the most epic hill in London. Also there were a few 'long-boarders' doing their thing on the downhill, while I was working on the uphill. All we needed was some Gluhwein and cowbells to get us in the mood on the 'Highgate Alps'!
It is a hill I'd recommend to anyone - it's too dangerous to ski down, but you get a great workout going up it (you can find stats online re vertical climb / steepness, etc). If our latest plan comes to fruition, we may well see hordes of kids on the hill (details of our Junior rollerski programme below).
Coming up more immediately are a couple of important weekends. Our 1-day rollerski course at Redbridge is this Sunday, with Dorney Lake following on Sunday 8th December. Both look like being big days of skiing. There's also some serious rollerskiing to be done in Hyde Park, and we'll be there each Saturday until Christmas.
It's a busy time of the year for our shop too, and we'll be flat out over the next few weeks to get rollerski and cross-country ski orders orders out. It's hard work and hard training all the way to Christmas! Bring on the snow.
