Snowsport England Update

New Addition to the Snowsport England Team

A big welcome to Kirsty Nicol who has recently joined us as our Administration Assistant.  Kirsty will be dealing with Memberships, General Administration and the Website; to name a few areas.

Here in Kirsty's words is why she has joined us:-

"I came to Snowsport England as I was looking for a part time job after having my little girl 16 months ago. I saw the perfect role at Snowsport England and was lucky enough to get the vacancy. My background in sport is that I used to be a competitive swimmer in Scotland for many years. I moved to Loughborough nearly 4 years ago and my first job when moving here was administrator with the Amateur Swimming Association so this was great experience for my role at Snowsport England.

I have only been in this role a few weeks but love it!

I have had some experience of skiing in France and Switzerland and loved it!

I've had a couple of snowboarding lessons but am still working on this!

Breaking News

The 16th annual Championships, hosted by Snowsport England and sponsored by Energiapura were run successfully by a force of volunteers who gave up their time to offer support in roles such as organisation, officials, course crew and media. The stunning resort of Bormio with coldest temperatures reaching minus seventeen degrees, gave teams, supporters and coaches an inviting atmosphere to sink hot chocolates and devour Italian pizzas in between extreme descents by the athletes.

We are always looking to imporve the running of this event, so if you were there please can you take a few minutes to complete the below survey.

Membership News

Snowsport England is Sliding into New Partnerships

Snowsport England attended the Slide trade show on Monday the 13th February to start to create links and partnerships with brands with-in the snowsport industry. The day was a great success with links being created with brands such as Atomic, Dare 2b, Surftec, Westbeach and Reusch just to name a few.

Over the coming months we will now be working with the contacts made to create working partnerships that we hope will benefit the brands, the NGB as a whole and of course our membership.

Susie Moore the Snowsport England Development Officer who attended the show stated

"I was rushed off my feet with the number of brands that wanted to work with us as the home national governing body of the sport. It was really exciting to meet so many possible partners and I am looking forward to working together with these brands and bringing benefits to all involved."

Zaini Hats Offer Snowsport England Members a 10% discount

Zaini Hats and Snowsport England are proud to announce that Snowsport England members can now receive a 10% discount on all Zaini Hat products.

All members will be contacted with a discount code which can be used on the Zaini website www.zaini.com

Zaini hats, the brand, launched as a result of an impossibility to find a comfy, colourful and stylish enough beanie hat. Scottish ski instructor, Miranda Harper, turned to making her own whilst in the resort of Haute Nendaz, Switzerland in 2010. No beanie was baggy or bright enough for her style, so she made her own to fit her fashion needs on the slopes.

Once friends, colleagues and family saw her hats they all wanted one. So she got back to her crochet hook and put together more designs including – Hot pink and Blue, Neon Green and Purple and Neon Orange and Purple. They only use 100% super soft acrylic yarn, which ensures a non-itch, cashmere feel and is durable to outdoor weather.

As a result Zaini Hats was launched; a company dedicated to bringing people new, colourful and unique hats. All designed in Scotland and all handmade with attention to detail in everyway.
Zaini has grown to become an established brand which sells and distributes hand made products throughout the world.

Keep up with the latest styles and news on the Zaini Facebook and Twitter pages.
